Just Returned from Israel

Temple Mount
in Jerusalem

From the 6th to the 13th of November, Jan and I, with eleven others had the opportunity to travel in Israel.  Great experience!  It takes almost 24 hours to get there when you factor in the eastward travel and the time zones; we left at four pm on Thursday and got there on Friday after four pm. But it's worth the effort: we saw many of the traditional sites such as the Sea of Galilee (including a boat ride and devotional time on the lake) Capernaum, Caesarea Philipi, Nazareth, Megiddo, Qumran, Masada, the Dead Sea, and then to Jerusalem.  There we visited the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Mount Zion, the Temple Mount, Western Wall, walked the Via Dolorosa, and also the garden area of the Garden Tomb, where we celebrated the Lord's Supper.

We packed a lot into the days we were there.  I"ll try to post some pictures or we'll put together a short slide show at some point.   Also, I may be using some of the pictures and images in upcoming sermons.
